This is a plein air piece from the Sierra Nevada Mountains, at about 3000, feet outside the town of North Fork, California. The greenish-blue manzanita, yellow flannel bush flowers, and purple shadows, create a pathway for entering this beautiful moment in time.

Mary Beth Harrison became an artist sitting at her childhood kitchen table, drawing dinosaurs and Dr. Suess characters with her siblings. The joy she felt creating art as a child lay dormant in the busy adult years but was rediscovered as her nest became empty! She loves combining plein air oil painting, photography, and studio work to create vibrant works of art that depict the stories of people, events, and moments to remember in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
